Phu Quoc
Located in the Gulf of Thailand, about 400 km west of Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc Archipelago attracts both domestic and international visitors with its diverse tourism experiences, rich marine resources, and vibrant ecosystems of both forest and sea.
The Best Season to Visit Phu Quoc
The archipelago consists of 22 islands, covering a total area of approximately 589.23 km². The largest island, Phu Quoc Island, is divided into the northern and southern parts, with Duong Dong Town serving as the island’s main center.
The best time to visit Phu Quoc, often called the “Pearl Island”, is from November to April. This is the dry season in southern Vietnam, when the weather is sunny and warm, the sea is calm, and rainfall is minimal — perfect for outdoor and resort activities. This period is ideal for those seeking a relaxing vacation rather than backpacking or adventure travel.
From May to October, Phu Quoc enters the rainy season, with occasional storms. However, it remains a popular destination, as this coincides with the summer holiday period. If you visit during this season, late April is an excellent choice — the weather is still pleasant, the crowds are fewer, and prices are not as high as in peak season. October is another good time to visit, marking the transition between seasons with fewer rainy days.
