Location: The festival takes place across multiple landmarks in Ho Chi Minh City, including the walking street Nguyễn Huệ Street, District 1, parks, heritage sites and cultural houses.





The festival honours the traditional Vietnamese dress, the “ao dai”, promoting its cultural value and its place in modern integration. Activities typically include grand opening ceremony, ao dai parades, art shows, contests (“Charming Ao Dai”), drawing contests on the theme of ao dai, interactive spaces.
For travellers – Notes:
- A great photo-opportunity: plan to be around Nguyễn Huệ Street or other central venues at dawn or early evening for parades.
- If you wish, you might rent or wear an ao dai (many shops offer rentals) to fully immerse in the experience.
- Some contests and performances may require tickets or reservations — check local tourism websites ahead.
- Beware midday sun: if watching outdoor events, wear sun-protection and stay hydrated.
- Respect cultural norms: while photographing, ask for permission if close-up with participants.
